Delta State Attorney General, Peter Mrakpor, has remained an enigma in the affairs of law practice and humanitarian services.
A man passionate about his job, who believes that justice is not for the rich, or the highest bidder. His reforms in the justice system of the State, has been tremendous.
It is noteworthy to say that, he became the first Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Delta State, to midwife the administration of the criminal justice system.
If there is one Commissioner who has distinguished himself in office, Peter Mrakpor ranks as the first. Little wonder why he has earned the commendations of the Governor and people of the State.
Two weeks ago, Mrakpor had paid hundreds of thousands of Naira, for the medical bills of a Deltan, who is scheduled to fly out to India for treatment.
Encomiums have poured in from staff of the Ministry of Justice, hailing the Commissioner as one of the bests that has sat on the saddle of Leadership in the Ministry.
There were kind words for the Commissioner, on his exemplary leadership, which many said were borne out of his passion for service.
The reforms in the Ministry of Justice, did not come as a stroll in the park. His sterling qualities in the administration of the law has been an envious milestone recorded in the history of the State.
This has placed him above his equals, and ahead of his time. It may interest the public to know that, if there is a Commissioner in Delta State that works round the clock and goes home at night, Peter Mrakpor stands out.
A man who has prepared himself for a higher office in future, which time will take him there. People like the AG, has continued to be down to earth, relating with all and sundry as friends and brothers.
His loyalty to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has been absolute. Mrakpor, not minding his societal status, has maintained that political offices are temporal, and someday, he will leave. But the legacies left in the office, is what counts thereafter.
Peter Mrakpor has earned a place in the annals of history. We will continue to celebrate his good works, while urging him to do more.
