A socio-political group in Delta state, Urhobo Peculiar Advocates organization has condemned the marriage between Emamuzo, Janet and Osioni at Isoko.
The group said, it is totally unacceptable and we stand to stop any such practices that will take place in urhobo land by mistake with such person punished by correction. Whoever will try it will face a huge punishment; for we will see to that. The family of the bride will not be left out from such punishment.
The general public should note that Urhobo customs and tradition doesn’t allow a man to marry two women on the same day.
It is only applicable in isoko nation and not Urhobo nation please take note.
We urge all the women all over the world to stand up against such practice, for it will bring low esteem to womanhood and loss of pride as a woman.
Urhobo men have so much respect and love for women as to not involve themselves in such a practice.
This is our stand as an organization on the subject matter.
The group urged the people in isoko nation to dissolve the marriage to save our #woman from such abuse and embarrassment.
The marriage ceremony took place on Sunday, March 26,2017 at utomajiri’s compound, 18 uro/ada road, uro-irri,isoko south local government area in Delta state.
